Please join us this Martin Luther King Day (Monday, January 17th at 6:00 PM) for an informal zoom conversation with our friend Congressman John Garamendi. John is a former California Assemblymember and State Senator, served as the first elected California Insurance Commissioner, the Deputy Secretary of Interior for President Clinton, and the California Lt. Governor. In 2009, he was elected to the US House of Representatives representing most of Contra Costa County. He is now running for re-election in the newly formed CA-08 district which includes West and North Contra Costa County, including the cities of El Cerrito, Richmond, San Pablo, Pinole, Hercules, Rodeo, Crocket, Martinez, Bay Point, Antioch, and Pittsburg. It also covers a majority of Solano County including Vallejo, Benicia, Fairfield, Suisun City, and a portion of Vacaville. For more information on the Congressional district please visit https://www.wedrawthelinesca.org/final_ maps. John is a proven progressive leader who fights tirelessly for his constituents. In Congress, he works every day for a fairer economy that works for middle-class families, not just those at the very top. That is why he has championed universal paid family leave, affordable housing, cheaper prescription drugs, universal healthcare, cleaner air and water, affordable education, and so many other policies that would relieve the pressure that working Americans face.To hear more from John and to engage with him directly, please register in advance at this address:After registering, you will receive a confirmation email from zoom with instructions for joining the meeting.
